Besor is built privacy-first. You can use the app without creating an account or signing in. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Anonymous by default

We create a random device identifier so your profile, progress and content can be saved without a name, email or login. It is not linked to your real-world identity.

What you provide

Onboarding preferences (an optional display name, denomination, language, focus areas, daily time) and the content you create: journal entries, prayer requests, prayers and encouragements, reading-plan progress, achievements and listening history. If you create an account to back up and sync, we also store your email address (and, with Apple/Google sign-in, the basic identifier they return).

Usage data

To improve the app we record basic events such as app opens, screens viewed, actions taken, time spent, platform and app version. We do not collect precise location, your contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we do not run third-party ads.

How we use it

To provide and personalize your daily experience, keep your progress in sync, generate devotional content, and understand and improve how the app is used.

Service providers

We use trusted processors to run the app: Supabase (database, storage and hosting), RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play (subscriptions and purchases), Expo (app delivery and push notifications), and AI services used to generate devotional and audio content. They process data only to provide these services.

The community

Prayer requests, prayers and comments you post are visible to other users inside the app. You may post anonymously. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal details you would not want others to see.

Children

Besor is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required). We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Retention & deleting your account

Signing out clears your data on the device. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete account, or follow the steps on our account deletion page; this removes your profile, journal, prayers, plans and achievements from our servers and cannot be undone. You can also contact us to request access, correction or deletion as required by applicable law (including GDPR and CCPA). Note: subscriptions are managed by the App Store / Google Play and must be cancelled there.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.

By using Besor you agree to these terms. Please read them.

The service

Besor offers devotionals, Bible reading, reading plans, journaling, audio content and a prayer community. The content is for personal spiritual encouragement and is not professional, medical, legal or financial advice.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the app.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting to the community you grant us a limited license to display it within the app. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to share it.

Acceptable use

Do not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, spam, or that violates others’ rights. We may moderate, remove content, or restrict accounts that break these rules.

Subscriptions

Premium features are offered via auto-renewing subscriptions billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and are managed in your store account.

AI-generated content

Some devotional and audio content is generated with AI based on Scripture. It may occasionally contain errors and should not replace Scripture itself or guidance from a pastor or qualified professional.

Disclaimers & liability

The app is provided “as is” without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are violated.

Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.
